The Birthday Girl

Friday was our Lacy's 4th birthday and we partied it up.She loved her butterfly pinata.
She loved her presents.
She loved blowing out her candles.
But she loved the cake the most by far! We had a great party with our family. Everyone loves Lacy. She means so much to our family. She keeps us on our toes. She adores her big brothers and loves to play with and tease her little sister. Click here to read a great blog post that Amy wrote about Lacy about a year ago.

The Baja Weekend

This weekend I got to go on a big adventure to Baja Mexico for an offroad adventure with some guys we work with. I haven't done a ton of offroad driving, especially in these rugged conditions. We did about 250 miles of the Baja 1,000 from Ensenada south to a little town called San Quentin. Here are some pics.

This is Horsepower Ranch where we stayed the first night. Cool looking cars waiting for us under their covers.

Cockpit view. I felt like a real race car driver.
Rest stop on the beach.

Another beach stop where they had a mexican feast waiting for us. There was a lot of Dox Equis (XX) consumed by almost everyone in the group. I stuck with the agua.

Beautiful San Quentin sunset. I bought some little trinkets from a market near here for the kids. Cool little town.

This is Garrett, my riding partner. As you can see by the look in his eyes he is completely crazy. He has a lot of offroad racing experience and so he was in hog heaven. He almost killed us several times, but then again I almost rolled it twice while I was driving.

These machines were super powerful and built to go over some seriously rough terrain. Here we are doing over 90 MPH on the beach.

This is our gang. There were 14 guys in 7 cars plus our guide and a couple of support cars.
The guy sitting in the car is Roberto Guerrero. He's a retired Indy Car driver who raced the Indy 500 4 times and other races all over the world. He still races in the Baja 1,000 every year. Here he was giving us our demo the night before our big run.

This is how we got from San Quentin back to San Diego.

This is how we got from San Diego back to Provo.

This was our pilot.
This was our co-pilot.

Lindsy's Big Adventure

A couple of weeks ago Lindsy took a tumble off our love sac and broke her arm. The doc looked at the x-ray and said it seemed pretty straight forward. Just cast it for 4 weeks and call it good. But he wanted to have her come in in a few days for another x-ray. So when Amy took her back in after a few days they realized that she had broken both bones in her forearm (ulna and radius for for you anatomists). He said that if she were older they would have to do surgery and put a pin in to hold it together, but since she's so little they would have to put her under general anesthesia and manipulate her arm so it was aligned and then re-cast it. So that's what we did this morning. Here are some high/low lights. She was pretty mad about the whole thing.
She screamed at her mom a lot.
Her big sister couldn't handle the screaming at times.
There were a few moments when the TV kept us entertained.
But by far the worst part was sending her away down the hall with the strangers in the scary masks. I hope she'll forgive us. She has a new fancy pink cast now and everything turned out fine.

Startup Blog

We've been lurking on other people's blogs now for many months so we finally decided to jump in with our own stuff. I can't promise we'll be as prolific as many of you, but we'll see how it goes. Here are some Disneyland pics from earlier this year to whet your appetite for more!
